Every question you answered “YES” to indicates a weak point.

Remedy it as soon as possible!

  1. Can duplicates of your key only be made with a signature form?

    No? You can never be sure who may be in possession of a spare key. Duplicates of a cylinder equipped with a signature form can be made only by the manufacturer or an authorized dealer.
  2. Do you use knob locks in your household (with exception of glass doors)?

    (Ease of handling is just one aspect, eg: for frail people-particularly in situations of danger you do not have to look for keys with one of these locks. But if you have small children these knob locks should be used only with extra door lock, as it would be too easy to open the door otherwise)
  3. Does your lock protrude more than 3mm?

    You can work out which is the right lock by adding the thickness of the door and the protective fitting. Yes? Then you should get one that fits as soon as possible, otherwise you might jeopardize your insurance cover.
  4. Do you have to get out a different key for every lock?

    (Forget all about that thick bunch of keys - a restricted key system does the trick. Every lock from the garage to the front door can be opened and locked with just one key) Yes? Although it does not have relevant to security, once you have experienced the advantages of a master key system you will never look back!
